At Chittering.
We have arrived early, Norman and I, to prepare the planting of the rose bushes which Mamma wishe to plant. As Norman does his work, the group gathers. This is a great day for us because some of our members who have travelled elsewhere are back again.
We begin to recite the rosary with a feeling of contentment and peace. The Blessed Mother came and I went to kneel at the edge of the water. She was surrounded by Angels and the Holy Souls in their thousands. I recognised among them, Archbishop Foley, other bishops and priests as well as my own father. We were all praying together. The Blessed Mother said:
Let us pray together! Today I will show you how effective prayer is and how helpful it is to those souls who are waiting for your intercession with the Father, the Almighty. In this state, these souls are unable to advance their progress to the Father, as declared by the Church on Earth. They need your prayers and through your prayers they advance toward God, the Father, the Almighty. Do not forget this task of prayer, ever.
As she prayed with us, a movement took place amongst the multitude and many began to ascend. My eyes turned to my own father, there present. I felt a strong emotion for him, mixed with some feeling of regret because I realised that I had not prayed daily for him and in the past. I had also forgotten to pray on the anniversary of his death.
His face, still bearing the signs of the terrible sickness which afflicted him before he died, was turned towards the Blessed Mother. Suddenly he threw his arms upwards and began to ascend. My heart stood still and then filled with an overwhelming emotion. This movement continued for some time, until the Blessed Mother said:
Please continue to pray for them, of your charity!
She now turned her gaze on each of us and she stopped on Anne. I could see that she was talking to Anne, but I could not hear what she was saying. Again she looked towards all of us and smiled. With this she began to ascend and I prostrated myself. When I arose, she was gone, but the overwhelming feeling stayed with me for some time.
Fr Chauncy celebrated two Masses on this day in this place. Some of us stayed back to help him with the third Mass of the day.
