These are the words of the Blessed Mother on this day:
How happy are those children of God who have chosen to recognize the truth and to live in it! This they have chosen to do, having heard the words of the Lord, Jesus, the Christ, who called them to be disciples by keeping to the truth.
He invited them to be His disciples with the words of the Gospel which are so gentle and tender (…be my disciples!) yet does not hesitate to call some of them children of a cruel and unloving father, disclosing that He knew they were plotting to kill Him!
It is clear, and learn, that the truth is not always a loving state which does not challenge that which is not the truth! Further, the truth confronts those who are not the Children of God, the Father, the Almighty.
Jesus knew that they were plotting to kill him! Jesus confronted them by saying that they were plotting against Him “because he had spoken the truth to them”. He went further to say that: “Were they children of our loving Father they could not have plotted against Him, rather, they would have loved Him”.
The child of God is the child who chooses to be confronted daily by the Word of God and to accept the God-given responsibility to recognise the truth and live in it.
Living in the truth is the necessary condition for the development of that morality which enables the children of God to live in the law of God’s commands. It is also the most necessary condition for the development of sensible and law abiding societies growing constructively towards the fulfilment of God’s plan for mankind. Such is the duty of the Church: to defend and maintain intact the most precious of all gifts, the inheritance which belongs to each and all, the solemn sanctity of God’s law, also written in the heart of each person, and based exclusively on the truth!
Remember, children of God, you belong to the Christ!
